Welcome to Rankin ERS Services, a division of Rankin Chemical Technologies, Inc (RCT). My name is Gregory S. Rankin, PE, and I obtained my B.S. degree in chemical engineering back in 1985.  Since then, I have acquired an extensive amount of experience in the sizing, analysis and documentation of emergency relief systems.

RCT has sized and evaluated hundreds of emergency relief valves and rupture disks for the chemical industry, and incorporates the latest API standards and calculation procedures in its ERS evaluations.

Relief Device Computer Program

Pressure relief device (PRD) sizings and evaluations are performed with a sophisticated in-house computer program that can handle multi-component mixtures.  This program has built-in access to high quality physical property data for over 5,000 chemical compounds.

DIERS Two-phase Analysis

RCT is a member of the DIERS group of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and is highly experienced in performing complex two-phase modeling of relief systems. Standard services include dynamic modeling of the relief event from onset through disengagement to all-vapor flow.  Rankin ERS Services can predict the amount of liquid vented to assist in the design of containment systems.
